I agree with Apocavis. They're not gothic. Where did he get that idea?

Haven't heard a whole lot of them, but from what I've heard I definitely must agree with MissMurder and Wolf: it's not gothic!

The Birthday Massacre
I would consider The Birthday Massacre gothic. Very surreal sounding music, with a female lead singer adds to the atmosphere this band creates. Check 'em out if you get a chance.

I agree, self-harm shouldn't be asssociated with labels such as gothic and emo, as labels are just a way of categorizing people by what music they like and how they dress, not whether or not they mutilate themselves or not!

Emo is a more expressive scene, where as Gothic I don't think is so expressive. The usual lyrics for songs somewhat differ as well.
